Interview With Matthew James: Merl

I sent a few questions to actor Matthew James, who plays Merl in season 2 and 3 of Angel. He was a demon who Angel used to beat to get information from him. He was killed in the episode "That Old Gang of Mine". Here is his response:

How did you get the part of Merl?
I auditioned for the part and they liked what they saw.

Are you a lot like him?
I do have a tongue unlike MERL, but you could say we have some things in common.

What do you think of Merl's character?
I really enjoyed doing the character. It was lots of fun.

Do you have a favourite moment off camera?
No favorite moment off camera that I can share with you, but I did like being hung upside down and getting dunked.

Did you get along well with the rest of the cast?
I got along fine with everybody.

What have you been doing since Angel?
I done some tv shows. Some independent flicks. It might be hard to tell it's me with out the make up. I've also been doing alot of writing.

If you weren't an actor what would your job preference be?
I would be a fireman if not an actor.

Do you have any other skills or talents besides acting?
Skills, I HAVE many I'm not so sure I can share them with you here.

Who is your favourite actor/actress?
Actors I like PACINO, ROURKE, DEL TORR.

What were you afraid of as a child?
I'm afraid of the dark.

Do you have any scars or tattoos?
Tatoos or scars, well you'd have to find out for your self.
