The Hyperion Hotel
Description
The hotel is first introduced in the Angel season 2 episode, "Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been" when Angel decides to go back and finish what he started in the 1950's. He decides to move in, since the other office of Angel Investigations had been blown up at the end of season 1.
The hotel has a very interesting history. Ever since it was built in 1928, it seems that there have been many cases of murder and mayhem. Many people believe that it is haunted. In 1952 there were three deaths in three months. The last murder was beleived to have been commited by the hotel's own bellhop, Frank Gilmitz, although it really was a suicide. Finally, on December 16th 1979 the hotel closed it's doors. On that morning, the concierge, Roland Meeks, used a shotgun in his morning wake up calls, room to room. The hotel was declared a protected historical landmark. The Property Management Company that owned it tried to sell it for years, but there were no buyers. Then, in 2000 a Angel bought the hotel and started his detective agency, Angel Investigations. Their business stayed there for 3 years.
The Hyperion Hotel has a big lobby and a beautiful garden in the back. In the alternate reality created in the episode "Birthday", the wallpaper was designed by renowned artist Jacques Latour as part of the remodeling they did. The Hyperion Hotel has 68 rooms in total. You can choose between a standard room, or a luxury suite.
